| Pictures downloaded by Rooey... finally... I created the montage myself...
After what seemed like an eternity, my stint with Movember has finally come to an end. As of about 10.30pm last Sunday night (the 9th of December) my face has been bald. Out of my $300.00 goal I managed to raise $210.00 which meant I had to keep all that fuzz for a penalty 9 days (for the $90.00 I was short). As promised, I have removed my default picture with a beard for one that is beardless. It was sad not to reach my goal, but I only really started raising money at the end of the month so its not a bad effort, plus since shaving one of my bosses sponsored me $20.00 and another boss was keen to donate too. So the bar has been set at $230.00 and it gives me the $300 target to aim for next year. Rooey has some pre and post shave pics which I can put up as soon as she loads them from her camera. Since the razor was out already and its summer time my head took some additional shearing which i usually do myself but rooey was nice enough to tidy up the back for me... thankfully we both lived to tell the tale, but i did have to prize the power tool back away from her afterwards... she's obviously been away from the hardware shop too long and is having withdrawal issues!
| Since I haven't got around to posting an update in a little while, and since I've just dominated Tetris here as I'm waiting to help Dad lay some internet cabling through the roof, I thought I would have time to squeeze in some recent news before I have to run outside and cut some more wire. A few weeks back Amy and I were a bit bored so I took her to a mythical place, being Ramsey Street... now I know as you're all avid fans of the Aussie soapie "Neighbours" you'll have heard of Ramsey Street in Erinsborough a thousand times. This amazing place is actually just a short drive from my house, and also on the way to a 40th party that we were attending. Unfortunately in her greed of stardom, Rooey has kept all those pictures for herself but I'm sure its only a matter of time before they're relased on her flickr. After visiting Ramsey Street and embarrassingly taking some pics with a few like minded onlookers, Amy recalled a nice lake nearby that we could visit... we eventually found the place she was looking for... as it turned out, although she and I have a lot in common, our definitions of "lake" are very different... I've included the scenic picture of us both at her glorified mud-puddle below...
She confessed that the swamp was a little different to what she had recalled, but fortunately we somehow managed to trek around it without getting too puffed. The next day (a beautiful Sunday) we took a drive out to Sugarloaf Reservoir as I was keen to show Amy my definition of a lake...
Dont't let the cheesy grin fool you as I was kind enough to not rub in the impressiveness of the big lake i found too much... mainly since I did have the home ground advantage of knowing where to find these things... and we're both glad that we've finished studying so we can go do these things!
| Okay, so I've been stuck gardening with Rooeyall arvo and my fingers are tired, but not nearly tired enough to tell you moreabout me... basically cause I'm so fascinating... and humble, let's notforget humble... so here's the next installment...
Work: Ie worked at the same accounting firm since April 2002 and still learnnew things pretty much every day, although most things I learn have nothing todo with accounting. I started there as a Trainee in a cadetship program whichbasically means I signed on for 6 years, first 2 years I studied at Universityof Melbourne in a commerce degree part time while learning the ropes at work ona full time basis, then for 2 years I studied on a full time basis whileworking on a part time basis, then for 2 years I came back to full time work asa graduate and studied at night school for a graduate diploma of CharteredAccounting (CA) which I finished mid June 2007?yes, I realise that April 02 un 07 doesn equal 6 years, but since I had basically no life while workingand studying, I doubled up with uni and my CA to get things done a bit faster, and now I loving not having to study!
Interests: Ie been going to the local Baptist Church basicallyall my life and have been involved with Boys?Brigade, Sunday School, smallgroups (bible study) and the church services and have been following Christsince I was young. Nothing compares to a personal relationship with Christ, andalthough I don do it enough, I love reading the bible with study notes andpraying to the God of the universe.
I also enjoy playing or watching any sport you can think of. I amcurrent the undisputed champion of the world in table tennis, but during theping pong off-season I play competitive soccer during winter and I pretend toplay cricket during the summer (don ask). Ie also just recently taken upSummer Comp of soccer which is a modified 6-a-side game played outdoors, I usedto play tennis regularly during lunch breaks at work but that been on holdduring study and being out at clients for audits. I run the sports and gamesout Boys?Brigade for Section 1 (Primary school aged guys) which usually tiresme out much more than them but helps to keep my fitness up so I can complain!
I have a gorgeous girlfriend who once you get past the OCD and indecisivenessshe actually kinda ok. I first met her during my part time employment yearsat work when she took a graduate position at my firm and after getting to knowher slowly I finally managed to catch her off guard when she was vulnerable andconvinced her to go out with me for lunch as more than friends after one of ourmany painful CA exams?I must have done something right cause she asked me out2 days later and we haven looked back?what we have done is keep ourrelationship relatively hidden from work, so Shhhh! A few people there knowbecause church circles are very small, and a few people know because we(wellhe) has told them?we have a theory that like in the Superman Herocomics when a character discovers Clark Kent hidden identity they areconveniently removed from the story, so do our colleagues who know about usdecide to move on to different employment! So wee been dating for just over ayear and now Ie finally caved in and agreed to accompany her down to Tassienly for some unknown reason its while her family reunion is on which isdaunting but she convinced Il manage to survive the experience some how butrefuses to guarantee I won be nailed to a wall by her dad with a pneumaticgun.
Other interests include going to Trivia each Tuesday night at an Irish pub inthe city with a group of friends where we continue to expand our everincreasing bank of useless knowledge. I also enjoy playing cards and boardgames with the guys for Boyz Nite on Wednesday evenings. Ie also managed tomaster the 3 by3 Rubik cube and can now solve the 4 by 4 more often than not.If you ever go to my house youl see a whole lot of minor trophies forchess tournaments from high school but I hardly ever play except for at StateYouth Games once a year where I am absolute gun at bombing out after 2-3games! Finally for some time Ie been learning to make balloon animals?I haveto do something now Ie finished studying....
| Hi! Welcome to my first wide, wide world of web page.
In case youe wondering why Ie put such a bad picture of myself up its because October is quickly coming to an end, which means Movember is just around the corner?no need to rub your eyes or bag out my pathetic spelling, I did mean Movember. Haven heard about Movember before? Well you need to climb out from underneath which ever rock youe beneath and visit www.movember.com. Basically its where people sign up to grow a moustache (a Mo) during the 30 days of Movember while being sponsored by friends, family, colleagues, passer-byers, random animals on the street and all the funds going to raise awareness for Men Health issues. Last year was the first year I participated and the picture over there of me is my pathetic attempt at growing facial hairnfortunately I never got round to raising any money but my friends and I had fun chatting as Mo-Bros, and several people agreed to fund my participation, I was just too slow in demanding cash from them.
This year, Ie decided that instead of raising funds to grow my Mo, I going to raise funds to shave my Mo after Movember?Ie set a price at 300.00+ of my local currency dollars to shave it all off at the end of Movember, and for every $10 short I am equates to an extra day that Il keep the growth hanging around? The general intention is that this way, I won have to go round collecting money as others will hopefully just give it to me so theye no longer forced to endure the torture of looking at the ugly mug?Ie just decided that when the Mo goes, Il switch my pic above too?BR> Ok, now that the unnecessary explanations and propaganda is out of the way, a little about myself?in installments?BR> Intro: I 23 years old, turning 24 next January. I live in Mitcham which is a typically average eastern suburb of Melbourne. I work in Blackburn which is 4km from my house, I go to church in Mitcham which is a 400 meter walk from my house, and basically all my friends and family live within a 15 minute drive of my house. I still live at home with both my parents and my younger brother (its much cheaper that way!). I also have two older sisters who have both moved out, and a brother-in-law who married the younger of the two?/FONT>
